Prabhsimran Singh Wiki, Age, Height, Net Worth 2026

Prabhsimran Singh is an Indian wicketkeeper-batter who plays for Punjab in domestic cricket and Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League, and who was named on 2 November 2026 as one of two wicketkeepers in the India A squad for the ACC Men’s Rising Stars Asia Cup in Doha, from 19 to 29 November 2026. The 26 year old has spent his whole IPL career with Punjab Kings, and his breakout came in 2025, when he scored 549 runs in 17 matches and helped the franchise reach its first IPL final in 11 years. Like fellow India A squad members Tilak Varma and Devdutt Padikkal, Prabhsimran came through India’s age-group system before making his name as a fearless top-order hitter in the IPL.

Early Life

Prabhsimran Singh was born on 10 August 2000 in Patiala, Punjab, which made him 26 years old in November 2026. He grew up in a joint family steeped in sport: his father, Surjit Singh, worked for the Punjab Mandi Board, his mother, Jasbir Kaur, is a homemaker, and his cousin Anmolpreet Singh is also a professional cricketer. As reported by The SportsRush, the two cousins lived together in Patiala, and Anmolpreet’s father Satvinder Singh, a former national-level handball player, was a key influence on both boys. He has often said his love for cricket began by watching Anmolpreet play.

His rise through Punjab’s age-group cricket was rapid. He led the state’s under-19 side and, according to his official IPL profile, smashed a record-breaking 298 off 301 balls in the 2018-19 Cooch Behar Trophy. In 2018 he captained India to the Under-19 Asia Cup title, a 144-run win over Sri Lanka in the final, as he recalled in an interview with The Times of India.

Career

Prabhsimran’s professional career began with a headline auction bid. Kings XI Punjab, now Punjab Kings, bought him for ₹4.8 crore at the 2019 IPL auction, up from a base price of ₹20 lakh, despite his lack of first-class experience. He made his IPL debut on 29 April 2019 against Sunrisers Hyderabad, but opportunities were scarce at first: he played only six matches across his first four seasons, as reported by CricketAddictor. His patience was rewarded in 2023, when he played all 14 matches under captain Shikhar Dhawan and scored 358 runs at a strike rate of 150.42.

The defining innings of that 2023 season came on 13 May 2023 against Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. With Punjab reeling at 43 for 5, Prabhsimran scored 103 off 65 balls, including 10 fours and six sixes, in a match they won by 31 runs. He reached his century off 61 balls. He built on that breakthrough with 334 runs in 2024, including a match-defining 71 off 34 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Punjab Kings retained him for ₹4 crore ahead of the 2025 season.

His best season arrived in 2025. Opening alongside Priyansh Arya, Prabhsimran scored 549 runs in 17 matches at an average of 32.29 and a strike rate of 160.52, with four half-centuries and a highest score of 91, as reported by CricketAddictor and Mint. Punjab reached the IPL final, where Royal Challengers Bengaluru beat them by six runs in Ahmedabad on 3 June 2025. In domestic cricket he hammered 404 runs in the 2024-25 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy at a strike rate of 163.56, according to his IPL profile. His rise continued on 2 November 2026, when the BCCI named him in the 15-member India A squad for the Rising Stars Asia Cup in Doha, where India A were drawn in Group B with Pakistan A, Nepal and the UAE.

Personal Life

Prabhsimran keeps his private life largely out of the spotlight, and no reliable source reports a wife or confirmed partner for him as of November 2026; several biography profiles list him as unmarried. As reported by The Financial Express and The Times of India, Surjit Singh suffers from kidney failure and undergoes dialysis three times a week, and Prabhsimran has spoken about how much it means to him that his father watches his matches on television. In a Times of India interview, he said that if his happiness could improve his father’s health by even one percent, it would mean the world to him.

He also credits former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, a fellow Punjab cricketer, with playing a significant role in his development on and off the field. His sister is named Sanjamdeep Kaur, according to family profiles, and he remains based in Patiala between seasons.
