Fani Willis’s first government job was as a lawyer, prosecuting misdemeanors and city ordinance violations. She spent 16 years as a prosecutor in the Fulton County District Attorney’s office. Her most prominent case was prosecuting to Atlanta Public School fraud scandal.

She who was an assistant district attorney at the time, served as the lead prosecutor from 2014 to 2015 in the trial of twelve teachers charged with correcting answers entered by students to boost scores on state-administered standardized tests was accused of.

Eleven of the twelve were convicted of fraud under Georgia’s RICO status in April 2015. In 2018, she went into private practice. That year, she ran for a seat on the Fulton Country Superior Court and lost.

She became the Chief Municipal Judge for South Fulton, Georgia in 2019. She was elected district attorney for Fulton Country in 2020, defeating Six-term incumbent and her former boss Paul Howard Jr. In this role she is known for successfully using Georgia’s RICO statute to prosecute non robbers and as of 2023, using the same status to prosecute former President Donald Trump and 18 alleged co-conspirators.

On 10th February 2021, she initiated a criminal investigation into Donald Trump’s efforts to influence the Governor, Attorney General, and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, through a telephone call to influence Joe Biden enough to unseat Joe Biden. To “find” votes. WIn the state and thereby nullify Biden’s victory in the 2020 presidential election.

In January 2022, she requested a special grand jury to consider charges of election interference by Trump and his allies. In May, a 26-member special grand jury was given investigative powers and subpoena powers and was tasked with submitting a report to the judge and on whether a crime had been committed.

She sent target letters to people being investigated in connection with a fraudulent voter conspiracy. They include two Republican officials – State Senator Brandon Beach and Georgia Republican Party Chairman David Shafer and 16 people who misrepresented themselves as voters.

She also sent a target letter to State Senator Burt Jones, but then a judge ruled that she could not target Jones due to a conflict of interest that she had hosted a fundraiser for the Democratic nominee for lieutenant governor.

The Cause was born After hearing from 75 witnesses, including former US Senator Kelly Loeffler former White House Counsel Pat Cipollone, and possibly Sidney Powell the special grand jury completed its work and was disbanded on 9th January 2023. On 16th February following a judge’s order, portions of the report were released.

Her office indicted Trump and 18 others on 41 Charges on 14th August 2023. According to an affidavit by Nathan Wade, a February 2024 court filing in the case revealed that she had a personal relationship with Wade – the attorney she appointed in November 2021 to lead the prosecution.

The filing was made in response to an allegation of conflict of interest and inappropriate romantic relationship by a defendant in the fraud case, which he has denied. According to the filing, She and Wade began their relationship in 2022, following Wade’s appointment.

In May 2022 the office indicted Young Thug on 56 counts of gang-related crimes under Georgia’s RICO statute and charged him with felony possession of illegal firearms and drugs, allegedly following the execution of a search warrant were discovered. The rapper has been held in the Cobb Country Jail since his arrest. The trial began on 27th November 2023.
