Muhammed Riswan Wiki, Age, Height, Net Worth 2026

Muhammed Riswan is an Indian freestyle footballer from Kerala who turned a single trick shot at a waterfall into one of the most watched Instagram Reels in history. His November 2023 video at Keralamkundu Waterfall passed 600 million views and earned Guinness World Records recognition in January 2024, and in October 2026 he was named one of 25 global winners of the Instagram Rings Awards. Like fellow Indian athletes Aman Sehrawat and Kiran Navgire, Riswan built his name far from the usual sporting spotlight before gaining national and international attention. He performs tricks with a football in striking locations, from rooftops and mountaintops to waterfalls, and films them for a global online audience.

Early Life

Muhammed Riswan grew up in Mankadavu village near Areekode in the Malappuram district of Kerala, and he is the son of Abdul Majeed, a shopkeeper, as reported by The Times of India citing The New Indian Express. Football was part of his childhood, and he played in district level tournaments while dreaming of a career in the conventional game. That early grounding in competitive football gave him ball control and confidence, even though his path would soon change direction.

As a teenager, Riswan suffered a fractured arm that forced him to take a break from regular football, according to The Hindu. Rather than leaving the sport behind, he turned to freestyle football, the art of performing tricks with a football using different parts of the body. He taught himself by watching videos on YouTube and practising on his own, gradually building a style that mixed technical skill with creative locations and storytelling.

Career

Riswan began posting freestyle videos on Instagram under the handle @riswan_freestyle, performing tricks on rooftops, mountaintops and even underwater, according to reports about his work. His videos stood out because the location was often as important as the trick itself, and his Malayalam roots remained visible in his style and presentation. Instagram later praised him for building his following without agents or traditional industry support, a point also noted by Gulf News.

His breakthrough came on November 18, 2023, when he filmed a short video at Keralamkundu Waterfall in Malappuram with friends, according to The Times of India. In the clip, he kicked a football from a distance toward the waterfall so that it appeared to vanish behind the falling water and rocks. Riswan has said the video crossed 100 million views on its first day, and it went on to pass 600 million views, a figure confirmed by The Hindu in October 2026.

On January 8, 2024, the achievement was officially acknowledged by Guinness World Records as the most viewed Instagram Reel at that time, according to The Times of India. Riswan marked the occasion by returning to the same waterfall with his football and record certificate. His international profile kept growing, and in 2025 the Argentine football team invited him to watch Lionel Messi play a home game at Estadio Monumental in Buenos Aires, according to The Hindu.

On October 29, 2026, Instagram announced Riswan as one of 25 winners of the Instagram Rings Awards 2026, chosen by a 14 member jury that included rapper A$AP Rocky, fashion figure Donatella Versace and chef Vikas Khanna, according to The Hindu. He was one of two Indian winners, alongside fashion creator Bhavitha Mandava, while Manchester City striker Erling Haaland was also among the winners. Instagram described him as a creator whose gravity defying skills and 600 million Reel views had taken him from local pitches to a global stage.

Personal Life

Riswan has spoken publicly about wanting to bring fame to Kerala with his skills, telling The Hindu that being one of the 25 Rings winners was only a start. He has said the viral video changed his life in practical ways, telling The Hindu that he built his house from the money he earned from it. That detail shows how directly his online success translated into a better life for his family.

As of November 2026, no reliable source confirms a spouse or partner for Riswan, and his public profile focuses on his freestyle work and his home district. His Instagram following stood at around 2.7 million at the time of the Rings announcement, according to The Hindu and other outlets. He continues to post freestyle content that blends football skill with Kerala locations, keeping the local identity that first drew viewers to his videos.
