Rhiya Ahir Wiki, Age, Height, Net Worth 2026

Rhiya Ahir is a Mumbai-based model, actor, anchor and entrepreneur who became nationally known in July 2026 after a photograph of her standing in front of a police van went viral. Known online as Rhiya Ekousiya, she had already spent years working in modelling, Hindi theatre and music videos, and she runs the handcrafted clothing label Rhiyasat. Her sudden fame carried her to the grand premiere of Bigg Boss 20, where she lost the Fans Ka Faisla audience vote to Love Gill and did not enter the house. Like fellow Bigg Boss 20 name Aman Gandhi, Ahir reached the season through public attention, not a long television career. As of 1 November 2026, she has not been announced as a returning or wild card contestant on the show.

Early Life and Education

Rhiya Ahir was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, and she is 27 years old as of November 2026. Several online biographies give her date of birth as 27 December 1998, but major outlets have confirmed only her age. She comes from a defence family: her father served in the Indo-Tibetan Border Police, and other members of her extended family have also served in the armed forces. The Hindu reported that she is the third of four siblings and that her father supported her participation in the protests.

Ahir completed her schooling in Mumbai and initially studied psychology at Sathaye College. She did not complete that degree, according to The Times of India, because modelling and acting opportunities began arriving. She later returned to formal study and is pursuing an English Literature degree through distance education from the University of Mumbai. Alongside her studies she has undergone around 13 years of formal theatre training, which she credits with her stage composure.

Modelling and Business Career

Before her viral moment, Ahir worked across fashion modelling, acting, anchoring, advertisements and dance projects. Her screen work includes independent music videos, with the music video Dilbara, released in early 2025, among her recent projects. At the time of her viral photograph in July 2026, Hindustan Times put her Instagram following at close to one lakh, a figure that grew quickly as the image spread.

She is also an entrepreneur. Ahir founded Rhiyasat, a luxury handcrafted apparel label that works with Indian artisans and promotes locally crafted clothing. Some reports spell the venture Riyasat and describe it as a platform connecting small artisans with buyers. The label remains a small, artisan-focused business. She has also said she is working on securing copyright for a screenplay she has written, showing ambitions beyond modelling.

Viral Protest Moment and Bigg Boss 20

Ahir became a national talking point on 22 July 2026, during a solidarity rally at Shivaji Park in Mumbai linked to the wider student protests over alleged examination irregularities and paper leaks. She told reporters she was walking from Kohinoor Square in Dadar towards Shivaji Park when she saw a Mumbai Police van carrying detained student protesters. Believing the detentions were unjust, she stepped in front of the vehicle with her arms outstretched and refused to move until those inside were released. Photographer Indra Joshi captured the moment in the rain, and the image spread across social media within hours, with many users comparing her stand to the Tiananmen Square tank protester image.

Ahir later clarified several points about herself in interviews. She said she was not a NEET aspirant, was not an organiser of the protest and had not been present at the Jantar Mantar demonstration in New Delhi. She also said she is neither Dalit nor OBC, and stressed that she had not earned or asked for any money from her involvement. The Times of India later reported that she sought withdrawal of an FIR against her and action against those allegedly threatening and abusing her online.

Her fame led to Bigg Boss 20, which premiered on 6 September 2026 with Salman Khan as host. Ahir and Punjabi actress Love Gill were placed against each other in the season’s Fans Ka Faisla twist, under which viewers voted through the JioHotstar app to decide which of the two would enter the house. Love Gill won the public vote, and Ahir’s journey ended on the premiere stage before she became a housemate. It is worth stating plainly that this was not an eviction from inside the house, since she never entered it. After the result, Ahir addressed abusive comments in an Instagram video, saying she did not regard the slur used against her as an insult and describing the community it targeted as a strong one.

Since the premiere, speculation about a wild card return has continued among fans, helped by the precedent of the previous season, when a Fans Ka Faisla loser later entered as a wild card. However, as of 1 November 2026, no official announcement has confirmed Ahir as a wild card or future contestant on Bigg Boss 20. Before the premiere she had told The Indian Express that she was reluctant about joining the show, because she felt responsibilities towards young people looking up to her and did not want to misguide them. A return therefore remains unconfirmed speculation.
