Kushal Tanwar (Gullu) Wiki, Age, Height, Net Worth 2026

Kushal Tanwar, popularly known as Gullu, is an Indian digital content creator and reality television star who turned a string of reality-show victories into a career in front of the camera. A Gurugram native with a hotel-management degree, he won MTV Roadies XX: Double Cross and MTV Splitsvilla X6 back to back, later lifting a cooking-show trophy alongside his mother — and in September 2026 he entered the Salman Khan-hosted Bigg Boss 20 house, where a week-six clash with wildcard contestant Nakul Dhull became one of the season’s most reported incidents.

Early Life and Education

Kushal Tanwar was born and raised in Gurugram, Haryana. Biographical portals report his date of birth as 11 January 1999, which would make him 27 years old as of October 2026, though a few sources cite only the year 1999. Filmibeat’s profile notes that he belongs to a traditional Gujjar family and grew up in a close-knit, middle-class household with his mother Munesh Tanwar and a brother, while his father has largely stayed out of the public eye.

His nickname story is one he has told himself. During a conversation inside the Bigg Boss 20 house in September 2026, Kushal explained that he was called Gullu as a child in his hometown; as he grew older and began putting on weight, friends started calling him Golu, and that name stuck during his heavier days. The period of weight gain became a turning point: Kushal says he shed roughly 30 kilograms about three years ago through sustained effort and self-discipline, telling housemates, “Bahut ghissa hai maine apne aap ko” (I ground myself down a lot), as reported by Moneycontrol.

Academically, Kushal took a professional route. He completed his schooling in Haryana and moved to Pune for higher studies, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel Management from the Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (IHMCT), Pune, between 2019 and 2022. Before television came calling, he worked in hospitality and events: freelancing as an event manager in Jaipur, interning at the Radisson Hotel Gurugram Sohna Road City Center, training as a chef, and co-founding a café in Gurugram. He launched his YouTube channel in 2024 and grew his online audience through entertaining videos that earned him the Gullu tag.

Career

Kushal Tanwar’s breakthrough arrived with MTV’s flagship adventure reality show Roadies. Competing in MTV Roadies XX: Double Cross (season 20), he impressed viewers and gang leaders with his fearless attitude and competitive performances, ultimately winning the season as a member of Elvish Yadav’s gang (reported prize: ₹10 lakh and a motorcycle).

He kept the momentum going on MTV Splitsvilla X6, which he won alongside his partner Kaira Anu (reported prize: ₹20 lakh) — making him one of the rare contestants to conquer both shows.

In 2026 he added a third reality trophy of a different kind: he participated in the family cooking show Maa Hai Naa with his mother Munesh Tanwar, and the mother-son duo emerged as the winners, underlining the close bond Kushal has spoken about publicly.

In September 2026, Kushal entered the Bigg Boss 20 house as one of the season’s contestants. Inside the house he has been positioned as a no-nonsense, competitive personality — a carryover of the traits that won him the MTV shows. During the season’s nomination rounds he featured among the Week 6 nominees facing the public vote, alongside fellow contestants including Qazi Touqeer, ScoutOP, Arishfa Khan and Mary Kom, as reported by Filmibeat.

Nakul Dhull Fight and Bigg Boss 20 Controversy

In mid-October 2026, Kushal became the centre of the season’s biggest controversy after a clash with wildcard entrant Nakul Dhull, popularly known as Mitthu Don. According to reports from the October 13 episode, a night-time argument involving housemates escalated when Kushal intervened; Nakul objected to the intervention, and the verbal exchange turned physical — Nakul grabbed Kushal by the collar and pushed him toward a sofa in the garden area, with Kushal retaliating as housemates rushed to separate them, as detailed by Bombay Times and TellyChakkar.

On October 15, 2026, Filmibeat reported that Nakul Dhull was evicted from the house for physical violence within about a week of his wildcard entry. Note: the eviction reports were based on media coverage; the show’s makers had not issued an official confirmation at the time of writing. Kushal himself remained in the house as a nominated contestant.

Personal Life

Kushal Tanwar is unmarried. After wedding-style photographs of him began circulating online, he publicly clarified that he is single and that the viral pictures were not from his real life, as reported by Filmibeat. He shares a strong bond with his mother Munesh Tanwar, his partner on Maa Hai Naa, and has a brother who keeps a low profile.
