Swami Avimukteshwarand Saraswati is a famous 46th and current Jagadguru Shankaracharya of the Jyotirmath of Joshimath, Uttarakhand, India. In September 2022, Swami Avimukteshwaranand was declared as Shankaracharya of Joytirmath, and got the ashram built by Adi Guru Shankaracharya in Joytirmath after the death of Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati. Before that, he was the disciple of Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati.

He completed his 6th class education in his village in a primary school and after that, his parents sent him out for higher education, when he was only 9 years old. He received Shastri and Acharya degree from the world-famous Sampurnanand Sanskrit University of Kashi. While studying at this University, students were also active in politics. He was also an officer of the student union. He led many religious movements in Kashi. He was appointed as the president of the student union at his University in 1994.

He met Ramchaitanya of Kashi when he reached Gujarat. His father left him there. He started worshiping and his study. When Swami Karpatri ji Maharaj was in bad condition by his health, he came to Kashi with Ram Chaitanya, where he served Swami Karpatri ji till his last breath.
When he served in the service of Swami Karpatri Ji Maharaj, he met the and got company of Puri Peethadhishwar Swami Niranjan Dev Teerth and Sharda Dwarka Peethadhishwar Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati. On 15th April 2003, he took Diksha from Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati and became his disciple, after that, he got the title Swami Avimukteshwarananda Saraswati. He took Diksha from Swami Swaroopanand in 2006.
Ever since he had been supervising all religious and other holly activities of Uttarakhand-based Jyotir math, He was declared the 46th Shankaracharya of Jyotish Peeth. He faced daily frequent visitors to Uttarakhand for years, he has good relations with all akharas and ashrams, mainly Haridwar. The office-bearers of Akhil Bharatiya Akhaka Parishad the umbrella body of 14 akhadas and others in Haridwar have hailed his elevation to the highest office.
People told me that ever since they left home. Did not come to his home again. He did not go to his village even after the request of the villagers. They used to go out after meeting on the highway. When he became famous as an Avimukteshwar, he gave fame to his family and his country. When he became abbot! people at home and villagers became happy.

Religious Movements of his life
- In 2008, he went on a continuous fast in Kashi for 112 days demanding the declaration of Ganga as the national river and he wanted to clear Ganga. Many Congress leaders and former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh met with Swami at that time.
- In 2015, he took out another protest march against the lathi charge on saints.
- He began the temple save movement in Kashi and tried to awaken Hindus across the country.
- Head of Sanatan Dharma in the country, all four Shankaracharyas planned they do not attend the Pran Pratishtha program of Ram temple which will be held on 22nd January, he took the decision. They said, that the Pran Pratishtha program of Ram temple has been kept on the basis of BJP’s election date. Whereas, the date of consecration should have been kept after considering the auspicious time.
