Bharathi Tirtha’s Early Age & Career

Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Bharathi Tirtha Mahaswamiji was born on 11 April 1951 to a Telugu Smarta family from Machilipatnam. His parents moved to Narasaraopet, Andhra Pradesh. He loved only God when he was a child. His upanayana function was performed when he was only 7 years old.

In 1966, when he was 15 years old, he met the 35th Jagadguru of the Sringeri Sharada Peetham, Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Mahaswamiji for religious guidance in Ujjain. He made disciple of Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Mahaswamiji and Sri Sri Sri accepted Brahmachari Seetharama Anjaneyalu. He served the sacred feet of His Guru approx. 8 years.

On 11th November 1974, Jagadguru Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Mahaswamiji appointed Brahmachari Seetharama Anjaneyeyalu as the successor, when Anjaneyalu took saffron robes, a staff, and a kamandalu as a water pot.

He became a new sannyasi and he accepted the title of Yogapatta Sri Bharathi Tritha in line with the Dashanami Sampradaya of Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankaracharya. In 8 years Anjaneyalu completed the education of Krishna Yajur Veda, Purva and Uttara Mimamsa, Nyaya Sastra, and many other treatises and commentaries.

As per tradition, seen in his experience, Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Bharathi Tirtha Mahaswamiji was called to different places and he would go to those places in serial for religious speech. In 2017, the most current tour places were such as Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka.

Thousands of devotees used to come and return daily to have darshan at his feet and he used to give holly speeches to people to live a good life. His Holiness is also a versatile linguist.
