Radhe Shyam Review: ‘Baahubali’ Prabhas’s interesting romantic look, the fascinating story of the lines in the hands, 2022

The creators of the film ‘Radhe Shyam‘, which started in the year 2018, have also claimed to create an audio-visual effect in cinemas, which is so far unheard of for Indian cinema. The film ‘Radhe Shyam’, which is said to be made on a budget of three hundred to three hundred and fifty crores, looks inspired by the love story of a famous palmist from Europe.

Director Radha Krishna Kumar is basically penned rich. It was while writing dialogues for Telugu films that actor Gopichand built his trust in him. Seven years ago, Radha Krishna Kumar made her first film as a director, ‘Jill’. The makers of this film have bet big on Radha Krishna Kumar in the film ‘Radhe Shyam’. During the shooting of ‘Bahubali’, when Prabhas was in the mood to do something romantic, something light-hearted, away from action films, he got to hear the story of ‘Radhe Shyam’.

Radha Krishna Kumar has used some of the famous writer’s sources of Vijayendra Prasad to craft his new film. He creates the environment around him before the character. But, The specialty of Vijayendra Prasad is that the atmosphere sets the stage for the artistry of all his characters. In the film ‘Radhe Shyam’, all his actors are not able to be one form from the world created by Radha Krishna Kumar. He dazzles on-screen with special effects, but in this glare, the supporting actors of the film keep getting foggy again and again.

Yes, director Radha Krishna Kumar has worked hard on Vikramaditya, the character of Prabhas, the hero of the film. Prabhas also seems to be trying his best to create his romantic image here. He has also become quite comfortable in the scenes presenting humor and glee in the film. Prabhas’s stature is not normal. His stature is divine. Their gestures and their body language also give the impression of a strong man. In such a situation, seeing him as the lover of a delicate like Pooja Hegde is hard work for the Hindi-speaking audience.

While watching the film, the mind has to explain again and again that the artist seen on screen is not Mahishmati’s Bahubali. He is not even Ram of the original man. He is Vikramaditya, In understanding this, half of the film goes. The story of the film comes to an end by the time of intermission with very beautiful pictures changing on the screen. Viewers are also amazed to see the formidable form of the ocean on the screen.

But the audience does not find this story to be real, and this is also the biggest weakness of the film ‘Radhe Shyam’.

Prabhas’s hard work is clearly visible in the film, he is also successful in leaving his impact. But, Pooja Hegde once again missed out despite getting a big chance. She fails to reveal her character’s emotions amidst the panoramic scenes. The impetus and excitement needed in his acting in a love story anchored by stars, the momentum is missing from his performance.

The second weak link of the film was not getting a better chance for other actors except Sachin Khedekar and Murli Sharma in its supporting cast. His characters were not crafted according to the story. Every Hindi cinema lover expected Bhagyashree to do much better when he returned to the big screen.

Apart from the music of the Hindi version of the film, the rest of the technical team of the film ‘Radhe Shyam‘ is amazing. Cinematographer Manoj Paramhans has managed to create wonderful fantasy folk on screen. It also appears to be Europe’s most artistic travel showpiece ever. His camera moves with the story.

He may not have been very successful in engaging the audience with the story, but his camera keeps slipping on the canvas of the cinema in bringing the imagination of his director to the screen. Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao has again shown his skill in the editing of the film. He is one of the most accomplished film editors in the South and his editing has been very successful in giving momentum to the film.

S Thaman’s background music is as per its Telugu version and does not produce the desired effect as per the musical tastes of the Hindi-speaking audience.
