After Mattingly from Ohio State University (where he was on the baseball team) and then Boston University, he got a job at Congressional Quarterly in 2007 as an economic and financial affairs reporter convering banking committees and the financila crisis. He joined Bloomberg News in 2010, where he served as a Finance and economics reporter and helped lead Bloomberg’s converage fo the federal response to the financial crisis.
