Navina Wadekar Biography: Age, Net Worth, Family & Career (2026)
Navina Wadekar biography searches have grown steadily since she stepped into one of Indian television’s most loved comic roles. Navina Wadekar is an Indian television actress best known as Bawri — Bagha’s cheerful, forgetful fiancée — in the long-running Sony SAB sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC), a role she took over in January 2023 after working in Marathi television and episodic Hindi shows.
This biography sticks to what can actually be checked. Competing bio pages disagree on her height, her birthplace and especially her net worth, and several repeat each other’s numbers word for word. Where figures conflict or cannot be confirmed, this article says so plainly.

Who Is Navina Wadekar?
Navina Wadekar is a young Indian television actress from Maharashtra who works mainly in Hindi and Marathi television. For most viewers she is simply “Bawri” — the bubbly, scatterbrained girl from Kanpur, engaged to Bagha (Tanmay Vekaria) in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, running since 2008 and 18 years old in July 2026.
Bawri was not a new character: the role had belonged to Monika Bhadoriya, who left in 2022. Stepping into a part audiences already loved — and being compared with the original weekly — is one of the hardest entries in television. In an August 2026 Times Now interview, she said it is not possible to please everyone and the cast does its best to keep audiences happy.
Navina Wadekar Age and Date of Birth
Navina Wadekar’s age is one of the most searched facts about her. Almost every bio page gives her date of birth as 18 June 1998, making her 28 as of November 2026. That date is consistent across StarsUnfolded, WikiBio, People Bio Fact, Punwish, CelebLegends and The Bio Info — but consistency is not confirmation: these pages appear to copy one another, and none cites an interview, a birth record or an official profile.
One detail does come from Navina herself: on 18 June 2025 she posted a birthday video on her verified Instagram, confirming 18 June as her birthday. The year 1998 rests only on the bio pages. Her birthplace is similar: most pages say Maharashtra, while one older page claims Kanpur, UP, in 1999 — easy to explain, since her character Bawri is from Kanpur. The character’s hometown is not the actress’s.
Early Life and Education
Navina Wadekar grew up in Maharashtra in a Marathi Hindu family, drawn to performing from childhood — Hindi films, dance and stage acting feature in all the retellings of her early life. Those details come from bio blogs rather than interviews, so they are background colour, not verified biography. On firmer ground is her education: a Bachelor of Mass Media from K. J. Somaiya College of Arts and Commerce in Mumbai, a detail StarsUnfolded ties to her LinkedIn profile. The SportsGrail’s January 2023 profile notes she first considered talent management and production-house work after her degree.
Navina Wadekar Career: From Marathi TV to Bawri in TMKOC
Early work in Marathi and episodic television
Navina Wadekar’s career began with small roles in Hindi episodic crime shows — Crime Patrol, Savdhaan India and Crime Alert, with The SportsGrail crediting her as Riddhima in Crime Alert on Dangal TV. Her first substantial break came in 2021 in the Marathi serial Tumchi Mulgi Kay Karte? on Sony Marathi, described as her television debut. She also worked in commercials and modelling.
Joining Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah as Bawri (2023)
The turning point came in January 2023. On 13 January 2023, IANS reported — carried by ABP Live, The Tribune and Lokmat Times — that Navina had been cast as Bawri, replacing Monika Bhadoriya, who had quit in June 2022. Producer Asit Kumarr Modi said he wanted “a fresh and innocent face for the character of Bawri”. Bollywood Hungama confirmed the casting on 16 January 2023.
Bawri is Bagha’s love interest, a girl from Kanpur, and the pairing’s comic chemistry quickly became a reliable pleasure of the show. Navina leans on bubbly energy and comic timing, and her “galti se mistake” catchphrase is now quoted back at her by fans. She remains in the role as of late 2026; in July 2026 she told Telly Masala she felt grateful to be part of an iconic show.
Social media and YouTube
Her verified Instagram account, @navinawadekar_, had about 300,000 followers as of October 2026 — a sharp rise from the 163K figure still printed on bio pages last updated in 2025. She posts dance and lip-sync videos, fashion and GRWM videos, and family moments, including a May 2026 “outfit switch” reel with her sister Mudra. She also started a YouTube channel in 2023, @TheMoodyGemini, for vlogs and makeup videos; bio pages from 2025 put its subscribers in the 500s.
Navina Wadekar Family
Navina Wadekar’s family is a subject where the public record is thin, and that thinness is itself worth stating. Her father is named across the bio pages as Vishwajit Wadekar. Her mother’s name has not been publicly disclosed. Her younger sister is Mudra Wadekar (@mudrawadekar on Instagram), who appears with her in family posts and reels. Beyond those three facts, little is verified, and nothing is publicly known about her parents’ professions. Navina is unmarried, with no publicly confirmed relationship.
Navina Wadekar Net Worth: What Is Actually Known
Navina Wadekar’s net worth is where this biography most differs from its competitors: no reliable figure exists, and the numbers in circulation contradict each other by a factor of ten.
- ₹80 lakh – ₹1 crore: given by Punwish, People Bio Fact, CelebLegends and The Bio Info (all 2025) — four near-identical pages that appear to copy from a single source, with matching “earnings” breakdowns citing no source.
- ₹8 crore (about $1 million): given by Bloggerism (2024), which also claims a ₹1–2 crore annual salary — roughly ten times the figure above, with no source cited.
- $200,000: given by TopPlanetInfo (2023) — again with no source, from the same page that gives her a different birth year and birthplace from everyone else.
- Not disclosed: Flairglo (2025) and YojanaStatus say plainly no net-worth information has been publicly disclosed — the only defensible position.
None of these pages cites a financial disclosure, an interview or any primary document, and Navina has never publicly discussed her earnings or assets. Her income comes from TMKOC, earlier television work, commercials and Instagram brand work — but any specific net-worth number online is an unverified bio-blog estimate, and the spread from ₹80 lakh to ₹8 crore shows how little any of them is worth. This article presents no net-worth figure as fact.
Navina Wadekar Height
Her height is another figure the bio pages cannot agree on: StarsUnfolded, The Bio Info and Flairglo list 5 feet 8 inches (173 cm); Punwish and UnfoldedStars list 5 feet 5 inches (165 cm). One of these is wrong, and no interview or official profile settles it — so this article lists her height as not publicly verified. From her own posts: long dark hair, often seen in western outfits and traditional wear such as sarees; hobbies include dance, yoga and sketching.
