Aasif Khan Wiki, Age, Height, Net Worth 2026

Aasif Khan is an Indian actor best known for his memorable supporting roles in the acclaimed web series Panchayat and Mirzapur. The 41-year-old entered the Bigg Boss 20 house on 6 September 2026, where he was soon made house captain in a twist that put him at the centre of the season’s early power games. From waiting tables in Jaipur to sharing the screen in some of India’s most-watched OTT series, Khan’s journey is one of the industry’s quieter success stories. Fellow Bigg Boss 20 housemate Mahhi Vij entered the same season.

Early Life and Education

Aasif Khan was born on 13 March 1984 in Nimbahera, a small town in the Chittorgarh district of Rajasthan, according to his IMDb profile. He spent his formative years in Rajasthan before moving to Mumbai to pursue acting. Details of his formal education are not widely documented in public sources.

Career

Aasif Khan’s path to acting was anything but conventional. Before facing the camera, he worked as a waiter in a Jaipur hotel, a job he has spoken about in interviews as the period that taught him humility and people skills. His first brush with the screen came in 2012 with the short film To-Let, and he spent years in small roles and theatre while waiting for a break.

The break arrived with Amazon Prime Video’s Mirzapur (2018), where he played Babar Khan, a henchman whose loyalty and menace made him a fan favourite across the show’s first two seasons. But it was TVF’s Panchayat (2020) that made him a household name in the OTT era: as Babru, the sharp-tongued, often-drunk village fixture of Phulera, Khan stole scenes opposite Jitendra Kumar and Neena Gupta, and the character became one of the series’ most quoted.

His filmography also includes roles in Jamtara, Paatal Lok, the film Ghuspaithiya, and the series Scam 1992‘s spiritual successor projects. In September 2026 he joined Bigg Boss 20 as a contestant, and within the first weeks was named house captain — a position that immediately made him a target in the season’s nomination games, alongside fellow contestants such as Uditi Singh.

Personal Life

Aasif Khan is married, though he has kept his wife and family largely out of the media spotlight. In interviews he has described himself as a private person who prefers his work to speak for him. He remains close to his roots in Rajasthan and frequently credits his small-town upbringing for keeping him grounded through the unpredictability of an acting career.
