OYO faced backlash from 10,000 hotel owners in India. The hotel owners claimed that OYO recovered the fees that were not disclosed at the time of contract signing.
In October 2019, police cases were filed against OYO by hotel operators in Bangalore, Mysore etc. OYO company has a network of 2200 hotels operating in 154 cities in India with 1500 employees. Ritesh won The Business World Young Entrepreneur Award. He is a famous speaker at business conferences and institutes in India and around the world and a member of the Thiel Foundation.
