He started his career at the age of 6, he started playing cricket. He told me when he went to the nearby playground to play cricket with the senior boys. He urged them that he also wanted to join but the senior boys refused. But this whole scene was watched by his mother.

He got his first Rs. 500 cash prize in cricket at the Under-16 Rajesh Peter Memorial tournament where he scored unbeaten 40 runs. Yash Dhull in an interview said,
I was much younger than the other boys, played in the top order, and at the end of the game received my first cash prize, Rs 500.
Yash Dhull’s promotion as the skipper of the Indian side was due to the result of his performance in the Under-16 Vijay Merchant Trophy in 2018-19 where he scored 185 runs against the Punjab team. Under his captaincy, many matches of the Delhi team reached the knockout stage after 8 years.
He is performing well as a captain of the Delhi state team of Under-16, Under-19, and India ‘A’ Under-19 series. But due to the COVID pandemic in India, he had to remain in his house just a few days before, he was to travel to National Cricket Academy.
In October 2021, Yash became the leading run-scorer batsman in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy (2021-22) series where he scored 302 runs for the DDCA team in five games with an excellent average of 75.50.
He was playing many matches for Delhi state and soon got selected for India’s Under-19 team. On the 19th of December 2021, he was made the captain of the Indian team for the Under-19 World Cup and Under-19 Asia Cup.
He was hit a century in the semi-final of the Under-19 tournament and made a masterstroke as the third captain who made a century after Virat Kohli and Unmukt Chand in the Under-19 tournament. On 5th Feb 2022, India won its fifth Under-19 title, and he created history in India by winning the Under-19 tournament as a captain.

- When Yash was selected as the captain of the India Under-19 team for the World Cup and Asia Cup, a round-shaped cake like a cricket stadium was being cut at the Bal Bhawan International School’s academy ground in Dwarka where he was trained.
- Yash got good support from his family in cricket. His father was working as the executive of a cosmetic brand in Delhi but his father resigned from his job to pursue his son’s career in cricket. In an interview, his father told,
I had to ensure he got the best kit and gear to play from an early age. I gave him the best of English willow bats. He didn’t have just one bat, I kept upgrading them. We had cut down on our expenses. My father was an army man. The pension that he received was used to run the household. Yash would always wonder how we were managing it.
