Diya Kumari belongs to a Royal Kachhwaha Rajput clan. Diya Kumari’s grandfather Man Singh who was the last ruling Maharaja state of Jaipur during British Raj in India from 1922-1947. Her father’s name is Bhawani Singh she was an entrepreneur and an officer in the Indian Army.

In 1970, her father ascended the throne of Jaipur due to the death of his father and he was titled Maharaja until abolishing the order by Indira Gandhi in 1971. In the Army, her father was superior in the war of Indo-Pakisthan in 1971 as a Parachute Regiment.
