On 5th October 2006, Rangoli was attacked with acid by Avinash Sharma and Prem Singh. Avinash was from her old neighborhood and a darling who was fixated on Rangoli and Prem was a welder, who was Avinash’s accessory in the wrongdoing.

They tossed acid on her at her rental home in Rispana Province, Dehradun. She was taken to the emergency clinic and she went through 57 medical surgeries. She needed to get the skin from thighs and complete the uniting.

She lost one of her ears, 90% of the vision of one of her eyes and she has a broken bosom, even in the wake of going through the best clinical treatment in the country. Her sister Kangana upheld her all through her excursion.
